Session Prep
-
Please try keeping baby stimulated and awake 1.5-2 hours before the session, a bath usually helps in keeping them awake.
-
It’s very important baby is sleepy during our time together so the session goes smoothly. All prop shots require a sleeping baby to pose safely.
-
Even if your baby is a great sleeper at home they will have a harder time settling in-between poses because I will constantly be touching and moving them. The less time I spend getting baby to sleep the more images I can create.
-
It’s best to start the session with a full belly, feeding baby right before heading to the studio is a good idea. Please make sure baby has a good burp before placing them in their car seat so gas doesn’t settle on the drive here.
-
Usually baby is asleep when arriving at the studio so please dress them in something that doesn’t need to be pulled over their head.
-
Please leave baby in their car seat after arriving to the studio.
-
If you don’t mind removing your shoes it is appreciated.
-
The room will be set between 80-85 degrees for baby so please dress accordingly.
-
Sessions can take up to 3 hours even with a sleepy baby. I will work very slowly with your baby to ensure they are always cozy and comfortable.
-
There is a sofa and television in the waiting area for you. You are welcome to take this time to sit back, relax and enjoy having a babysitter for a few hours.
-
Family/sibling images are done at the start of the session. It is preferred to have someone available to take young siblings once their part of the session has ended.
-
Siblings are not allowed in the shooting space after they are done being photographed.
-
Please bring the following items: A warm comfy blanket, 2 receiving blankets, diapers, wipes, gas drops, and a few pacifiers, (even if baby doesn’t use a pacifier they can be very helpful to me during the session) extra bottles if not nursing, Babies tend to want to eat more while being photographed. (No need for outfits. I have all the outfits and accessaries needed for the session)
-
Jaundice: If your baby has jaundice or is still yellow from jaundice it is best to wait until it is out of Baby's system. The yellow/red blotchiness is very hard to edit out of their skin. If you are not sure look at the whites of their eyes. If still yellowish you may want to give baby an extra week. Please email me a picture of baby in just their diaper and in natural light.

Let me know if you have any concerns.
